Frederique Constant and Frederic Chopin: a special couple

Frederic-Francois Chopin was born on March 1, 1810 near Warsaw. He is generally regarded as one of the greatest composers of the Romantic era. From childhood, the piano was his most loved instrument and remained so throughout his life.

Chopin is one of music's most famous child geniuses. Young Chopin's musical talent developed very early: he was six when he took his first piano lesson. At the age of seven he already had 2 polonaises to his name, which were printed on paper in father Cybulski's workshop. An article in a Warsaw newspaper made 'little Chopin' a real attraction at receptions in the local aristocratic salons. His concerts were eagerly attended. At the age of twelve he surpassed the level of his piano teacher, at that time a renowned pedagogue-musician.

We know Chopin best from mazurkas, nocturnes and walzes. He enriched piano music considerably. His 24 preludes are regarded as a milestone in classical music. Chopin would have turned 200 years old in 2010. To celebrate this, Poland renamed 2010 'the year of Fryderyk Chopin'. Hundreds of events took place not only in Poland, but all over the world: concerts, exhibitions, festivals, conferences and so on. Everything is dedicated to the 200th birthday of this Polish genius.

Frederique Constant also contributed to honor the child prodigy. In 2010 they released a Limited Edition “Frederic Chopin 2010” watch. A watch that reveals the timeless elegance and restrained power of Chopin's music. With a limited edition of 1810 pieces in rose gold, yellow gold and steel, with the lines of piano keys incorporated into the dial, suitably presented in a black miniature piano. These unique classic watches sold out in no time. Brunott Jeweler managed to get hold of one more of these pearls. Are you a fan of Chopin or just a lover of classic watches, then be quick because before you know it, this unique piece will also be gone.
