The Presage Sharp Edged Series watch case and strap feature many flat surfaces with sharp corners. As a result, the watches have a shiny and beautiful appearance from every angle. The extremely precisely cut and polished surfaces with the sharp edges contrast with the 'matt finish' to create a subtle multi-dimensional effect in the silhouette.
Dial PatternThe dial features the Japanese Asanoha or hemp leaf pattern, which has been used in Japanese designs since the Heian period - over a thousand years ago. The fibers that make up the stem were originally used to fabricate fabrics. The pattern of the leaf symbolizes strong, rapid growth and health, especially in young people. The sharp geometric pattern and rich texture of the dials creates a continuously changing image when light plays over them at different angles.
Color DialEach model offers dial in a different traditional Japanese color: Shironeri, silky white; Aitetsu, or indigo iron; Tokiwa, the color of evergreen trees; Susutake, the reddish brown color of smoked bamboo; and Sumiiro, the color of Indian ink.
These four watches are powered by the 8-beat GMT automatic caliber 6R64. The GMT hand on each model is in a different color to optimally contrast with the underlying dial. All hands and indexes are generously coated with Lumibrite to ensure legibility. The GMT hand can also be used as a second time indicator. The hour hand is adjustable, even if the minute and second hands continue to indicate the time. The rings around the dial are made in two colors to distinguish the day and night hours at a glance. The date is displayed on a small dial at the six o'clock position and there is a power reserve indicator at nine o'clock
