The Oris Aquis Pro Date (01 400 7767 7754-07 426 64BTEB) is designed for professional divers on saturation diving. Highly technical, this watch is often chosen by professional divers working on complex engineering projects in enriched environments hundreds of meters below the water's surface.
One of its special features is Oris' patented Rotation Safety System, known as RSS. Developed on behalf of the professional diving community, this exclusive Oris device allows the wearer to adjust and secure the uni-directional rotating bezel. This means they can read the remaining dive time with absolute certainty during a dive.
A thick rubber grip makes the watch easy to operate, even with gloves on. The yellow-white minute scale engraved into the scratch-resistant ceramic bezel provides a high degree of readability in low-light conditions.
The Oris Aquis Pro Date is the result of extensive research and collaborative thinking. It is a fully functional watch series that makes no compromises in terms of style. The Oris Aquis Pro date is just as at home
in the urban jungle as deep beneath the waves.
The Aquis Date is a reliable diver's watch with a groundbreaking in-house automatic movement. Oris claims that the Aquis Date can go through life completely maintenance-free for the first 10 years.
The Caliber 400 is a brand new movement. Independently conceived by Oris, it sets new standards with groundbreaking in-house automatic mechanical movements. The Aquis Date has a five-day power reserve, or more than 120 hours. Furthermore, it is highly resistant to magnetism and comes with a more than 10 year warranty.
When designing the Caliber 400, Oris engineers realized that we might not wear the same watch every day anymore. But, if you don't wear a standard mechanical watch for one or two days, the energy reserve decreases and the watch comes to a standstill. That had to be different! Instead of one or two days, Caliber 400 therefore has a five-day power reserve.
The Aquis Date is therefore an automatic watch that just keeps running if you are not wearing your watch for a while. This extended run time comes from two barrels that both house an extended mainspring, each long enough to store 2.5 days of power reserve. This unique technique makes the Oris Aquis Date even more special!
Eliminating problems was one of Oris' fundamental ambitions when developing Caliber 400. And Oris has succeeded! Oris engineers determined that the ball-bearing system that allows it to rotate the rotor is one of the most common causes of problems with automatic mechanical movements.
That is why Oris has completely removed the ball bearing and replaced it with a low-friction plain bearing system. A metal pin runs through the lubricated sleeve. This system is much less complex, is highly efficient and involves less wear and tear. Increased resistance to magnetic fields
Most Swiss watches become magnetized when exposed to the strong magnetic forces of everyday life. Magnetic fields negatively affect automatic watches. When automatic watches come into contact with strong magnetic fields, they become less accurate. They may even stop tapping altogether.
Oris changes that with Caliber 400! Thanks to the help of more than 30 non-ferrous and anti-magnetic components (including a silicone escape wheel and a silicone anchor), watches equipped with the Caliber 400 can be safely exposed to magnetism.
In lab tests, Caliber 400 was found to deviate less than 10 seconds per day after exposure to 2,250 gauss.
Context: The latest version of the ISO 764 standard for anti-magnetic watches states that a watch must be accurate within 30 seconds per day of exposure to 200 gauss in order to qualify as anti-magnetic. This means that Caliber 400 registered a third of the allowable deviation after exposure to more than 11 times the allowable force.
Because nowadays a modern luxury watch must be and must remain reliable, every Oris watch with Caliber 400 has a warranty of more than 10 years.
