The chronograph function

A new icon from Bell & Ross, the BR 05 is now equipped with a chronograph movement - a mechanical complication perfectly adapted to the pace of city life. Invented to measure and control short periods of time, this feature is a faithful ally to those who wear it in their quest to master the fleeting nature of time.

The lines of the 42 mm case combine round and square, the basic geometric shapes that form the identity of the Bell & Ross brand.

The integrated design

The new BR 05 chronograph belongs to the family of watches with an integrated bracelet, with the same design where the case and bracelet are fused into a cohesive whole. "The case and bracelet form a complete whole," explains Bruno Belamich, creative director of the brand. “This type of design harks back to a category of watches that emerged in the 1970s and when infused with the signature Bell & Ross identity, the resulting graphic style is both striking and modern.” The angle of attachment to the bracelet has been carefully designed to follow the contours of the wrist, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit all day long, in any situation.

The readability

The dial of the BR 05 chronograph is another hallmark of its personality, which guarantees optimal legibility thanks to its graphic shapes and contrasts. The dial is somewhere between round and square, another subtle reference to the 1970s. The shape of the two snail counters (chronograph-minute counter at 9 o'clock and small seconds hand at 3 o'clock) gives the new BR05 a neo-retro look that does not detract from its modernity.

The story of Bell & Ross

In the early 1990s, the current director and co-founder, Bruno Belamich, did an internship at the German watchmaker, Helmut Sinn. This internship inspired Bruno's interest in wristwatches. In 1992, Belamich decided to set up his own brand in Paris with his friend Carlos Rosillo. The name Bell & Ross refers to the surnames of the founders.

Belamich and Rosillo wanted to manufacture watches that meet four criteria: legibility, functionality, durability and utmost precision. These watches had to fill a gap in the market for people who deal with extreme situations on a daily basis. Especially in professions where high pressure conditions, extreme temperatures and a reliable watch is not only necessary as a tool, but is essential as a means of survival.

The company's first employees came from the aviation industry. The square design of this brand not only gives stability to the cabinet, but is also reminiscent of the on-board instruments from airplanes. The stylish design of a Bell & Ross watch clearly stands out. The watches are currently manufactured in the Bell & Ross factory in the Swiss La Chaux-de-fonds.
