Seiko 5 Sports has been revived with the creation of a new collection. Its design is inspired by one of Seiko's most beloved sports watches, the Seiko Sportmatic 5, from the 1960s which has been synonymous with great reliability, durability and performance for over 50 years at a price that has appealed to mechanical watch enthusiasts worldwide. The '5' stood for the promise that every Seiko 5 timepiece had 5 essential features: automatic caliber, day-date display at the 3 o'clock position, water resistance, an embedded crown at the 4 o'clock position and a solid case. and belt. The new design features a modernized version of the renowned case, the familiar arrow-shaped hands, the characteristic 3D hour markers and the unilateral rotating bezel. The collection is divided into 5 special style lines: Sports, Suits, Specialist, Street and Sense.

Caliber 4R36

The 4R36 Seiko caliber with day/date display is an automatic caliber. The watch charges itself during wear by converting the wearer's arm and wrist movements into energy. Movement of the watch causes the mainspring of the watch to be wound. This spring is the energy source. Hand winding is also possible. When the watch is fully charged, it has an energy reserve of approximately 41 hours. The tick number of this automatic is 21,600 per hour and the watch has 24 jewels. The 4R caliber is manufactured entirely in-house.
