Description

1969 original model
The introduction of the Seiko Speedtimer in 1969 was an important milestone in the history of the chronograph. It was one of the world's first mechanical chronographs. And it was equipped with caliber 6139, whose precision in measuring elapsed time marked a significant advancement in the history of the mechanical wristwatch.

Precision
As with all Speedtimer chronographs, every detail of the design reflects the precision required to measure elapsed time at the highest level. The chronograph second hand extends to the tachymeter markings on the edge of the dial. The chronograph minute hand at six o'clock and the central seconds hand are in red and contrast strongly with the dial, so that the elapsed time can be seen at a glance. The date window is placed between the indices, so that the exact time can always be read flawlessly.

Classic and sporty
The watch has a classic yet sporty look thanks to the combined matt and glossy finish of the strap and the curved sapphire glass. The thickness and weight of the strap ensure stability and high wearing comfort on the wrist. The dial is very easy to read because of the sunray finish, which is a characteristic of every Prospex watch.

Caliber
The watch is powered by Seiko's Solar caliber V192 that offers a 60-minute chronograph and a 24-hour subdial. When fully charged, this caliber will operate for up to six months without being exposed to light. The hour and minute hands and all twelve indices are generously finished with Lumibrite. So that the time is clearly displayed even in low light.
