As the name suggests, the Vintago also offers a look back at the past, as the design embodies a rather elegant era. The purely functional typography and the flat glass that arches over the unadorned dial are reminiscent of the sober design language of the 1960s. The finely brushed stainless steel case with its discreet 38 millimeter diameter is also typical of that decade. And, last but not least, the carefully designed crown also harks back to those bygone years.
But while MeisterSinger's Neo at first glance looks like it's been around since the 1950s, the Vintago's design is also quite contemporary at the same time. Its curved single hand revolves around a multi-level dial, adding even more depth to the Vintago's geometric appearance. The generously curved segment of the date display is cut from the raised center. Both the form and the content are very typical for MeisterSinger, because the wearer has an overview of five calendar days and a small dot indicates the current date.
Living in the 21st century, we believe that everything should be possible. We must be able to go to the moon without difficulty, to parachute from 40 kilometers high, to dive 10,000 meters deep sea and to carry a working watch with us in all these situations. A watch has long ceased to be an accessory for us to read the time, it should always be possible to do more. It is precisely this simplicity of design and functionality that sometimes attracts us so much and gives us the peace of mind to give a counter signal in this fast and hectic society. Simplicity that shows everything with 1 pointer, and teaches us to enjoy every moment. More is not always better, says MeisterSinger. Sometimes it's the simple things in life that can bring out the best in us.
The history of MeisterSinger
The special brand MeisterSinger was founded in 2001 and is known for its elegant and functional watches with only one hand.
Founder Manfres Brassler wanted to create a classic quality watch that gives the impression that all contemporary hectic and busyness has come to a halt.
The unique shape and style of these MeisterSinger watches appeals to the imagination of many watch lovers. A good reason to dive deeper into the history of MeisterSinger.
In the Middle Ages, many clocks had only one hand. As a result, the time cannot be read to the second, and this creates the feeling that time is slowing down. Based on this principle, Brassler developed the first model in the collection, the MeisterSinger N°01. Despite the fact that there is only one hand, the time is still easy to read. The layout of the dial makes the watch unique.
How does a MeisterSinger work?
The space between the hour indices are divided into five-minute chunks.
The quarter-hour indices are longer than the five-minute indices. Because the pointer is sharpened in a sharp point, it is possible to read the time accurately to within five minutes.
