Description

Geneva, 1992

Frederique Constant, in its current form, was founded in 1988. Aletta Bax and Peter Stas launched their first collection in 1992, consisting of six models equipped with Swiss movements and assembled by a watchmaker in Geneva. Frederique Constant is involved in all stages of watch production, from initial design to final assembly. Watches manufactured under her trademark are either designed by Frederique Constant or contracted by independent designers for a specific range of models. There is a strong emphasis on watch design to keep abreast of trends and customer preferences. Frédérique Constant uses advanced computer software to assist in the design and development of the watch.

Let more people enjoy luxury!

Frederique Constant does not mean to limit her watches to a small and elite circle of connoisseurs. No, the watchmaker is targeting a wider group of enthusiasts who want to enjoy high-quality classic watches at a reasonable price. Frederique Constant has been at the World Watch, Clock and Jewelery Show in Basel since 1995. When the company flourished, Aletta Bax and Peter Stas decided to move to Geneva themselves, to establish the brand in the heart of this watch capital.

The FC-718 caliber movement is an extraordinary tool, not only because it was designed, engineered and manufactured in-house, but also because the Worldtimer and date functions are all adjustable via the crown itself, with no additional push buttons. To easily set the functions, you have to choose between three settings; the first allows you to wind the watch by turning the crown upwards; the second allows the user to set the date and city by turning the crown up and down respectively; and the third position allows the user to set the time by turning the crown down. This timepiece displays two separate discs, one with a 24-hour day-night indicator and a second with the twenty-four cities.
