The concept

Often the design of a new Frederique Constant watch starts with an exchange of ideas between staff members from different departments:sales, marketing, communication and workshops. These discussions are often lively, as each of the staff members experiences the launch of each new watch with great passion. Once everyone agrees on the new watch to be developed, the designer will translate the idea into a drawing.

Frederique Constant uses advanced computer software to assist in the watch design and development process. The designer then builds the model, layer by layer, which in turn will determine the manufacturing process for the watch itself. This concerns all the parts needed to make the timepieces:the diameter of a hole on the plate, the weight of a rotor or the finish of a bridge.

Every visible part of every watch that the watchmaker produces is beautifully decorated. Much of the intricate decorative work is done by hand, including detailed carvings, the application of the round Côtes de Geneve, and so on.
