A design forever

In celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date, Oris is proud to present a special edition in bronze with a green dial. No watch tells the historic story of independent Swiss watchmaker Oris better than the iconic Big Crown Pointer Date. It is a powerful symbol of Oris's philosophy, and some say that without it Oris might not have achieved its current status as the leader in Swiss-made mechanical watches.

In 1938 Oris introduced a groundbreaking watch for pilots. This model had an oversized crown so that gloved aviators could easily fit the watch, and an unusual complication: a date indicated by a central hand.

In celebration of the 80th anniversary of this historic watch, Oris has created the Big Crown Pointer Date 80th Anniversary Edition, a special watch with a 40mm case, fluted bezel and oversized crown, cast in bronze, and a striking green dial.
