TISSOT PRX POWERMATIC 80

In 1978, Tissot created a quartz model, which featured a flat, tonneau-shaped case, narrow indexes and a steel bracelet. A few years later, Tissot registered the name PRX. "PR" stands for "precise" and "robust". The "X" stands for the Roman numeral ten and for the pressure of 10 bar, which corresponds to a depth of 100 meters, to which the watch remained watertight. In 2021, Tissot presented the PRX 40 205, with the numbers citing the product number the watch wore at the time. It is a modern version of the previous model. The 316L stainless steel case of the Tissot PRX 40 205 has a diameter of 40 mm. It has a light tonneau shape and is decorated with a narrow, round ring. On the sides, vertically brushed, rounded finishes alternate with polished facets.

The Tissot PRX 40 205 Powermatic 80 is equipped with a dial with a honeycomb pattern in combination with nickel-plated indexes and hands. There is also a variant with rose gold colored indexes and hands - a color combination that is also reminiscent of the late 1970s. The most striking feature is the row of large links that take up the entire width. Its flexibility and suppleness make it a real success of ergonomic design and provide exceptional wearing comfort. The satin finish on the outside is just as meticulous as the polishing on the inside. The hands of the PRX 40 205 have a SuperLumiNova® coating and are placed on top of each other with a very small gap. This allows the dial to be moved closer to the watch glass. The optical effect achieved by Tissot's designers makes the watch case appear even flatter and slimmer than it actually is. The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 has a scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a mineral glass back. This version has a black dial with indexes and a 316L stainless steel bracelet with a butterfly folding clasp with pushers.

POWERMATIC 80

An automatic watch works thanks to the energy of the wearer. It is the wrist movements that make the mechanism work. The Powermatic 80 offers 80 hours of power reserve, enough to keep accurate time even if the watch is not worn for 3 days. A timepiece thus innovative and efficient compared to the competition, which generally offers a day and a half power reserve.

SAPPHIRE GLASS

The properties that sapphire glass gives to a watch are: extreme shock resistance and good readability of the dial and hands due to its transparency. This material is the most robust after diamond and is mainly used in the luxury watch industry because of its scratch-resistant properties. Sapphire glass can take on different shapes, allowing different watch designs: flat, domed, hollow or cut.

WATER RESISTANCE

All Tissot watch cases are subject to various checks, including the water resistance test. Tissot tests the watch's ability to withstand shock, pressure and the ingress of liquids, gases and dust by simulating the actual conditions the watch may be in.
