Experience the Majesty: Dat Watt Limited Edition II

In the world of exceptional watchmaking, the Dat Watt Limited Edition II emerges as a perfect blend of art and purpose. Originating from the renowned collaboration between Oris and the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat, this watch stands as a dedication to the world's natural beauty and is extended until 2025.

The striking green dial is an ode to the light that dances over the salt marshes of the vast 11,500 km2 Wadden Sea in Northern Europe. This isn't just any watch; it is a story of nature contained in time. In addition to its visual appeal, the Dat Watt Limited Edition II features a unique circular date indication, powered by a flawless Swiss automatic mechanical movement. With a water resistance of up to 30 bar (300 meters) and the choice of a sleek bracelet or a versatile interchangeable rubber strap, it is a marvel of both design and function. And since there are only 2,009 of these in existence, in tribute to the year the Wadden Sea was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it's a piece of history waiting to be worn.

The New Standard

Oris is a well-known watch brand that has its origins in Switzerland. It was founded in 1904 by Paul Cattin and Georges Christian in the town of Hölstein. In the beginning, Oris produced pocket watches using mechanical movements. During the 1920s and 1930s, Oris grew rapidly and became a major player in the watch industry. They started producing watches for pilots, divers and athletes, and quickly gained a reputation for quality and reliability. In the 1960s, the watch industry faced challenges with the rise of quartz watches. However, Oris decided to stick to their tradition of mechanical watches and managed to survive by focusing on the production of diving watches. In the following decades, Oris continued to produce and develop innovative watches. They launched watches with built-in compasses, altimeters and chronographs, among other things. The brand was known for its rugged construction and reliability, and became increasingly popular with watch enthusiasts around the world. In 1982, Oris was acquired by a group of private investors and became an independent company. This allowed them to chart their own course and stay true to their core values of high-quality mechanical watches. Today, Oris is known for its ecological initiatives and involvement in charity work. They have partnered with several organizations to promote ocean health and have released watches that support this commitment. Oris has grown into an established watch brand with a global presence. It remains true to its traditions of craftsmanship and mechanical watchmaking, and continues to produce innovative and reliable watches that appeal to watch enthusiasts and adventurers alike.

It's time to act

  • Common Wadden Sea secretariat: De Change for the Better-projecten van Oris bestrijken de hele wereld.
