Worldwide, Seiko is one of the most well-known and famous watch manufacturers. Seiko has a history dating back to the year 1881, when K. Hattori opened his first clock store in Tokyo. The name his store bore was Seikosha. This is Japanese for "House of Precision," and that is exactly what Seiko stands for today. The name Seikosha has been upheld by Japanese watchmakers over the years by producing the most extraordinary watches and precision timepieces. In 1913, Seiko was the first watchmaker to introduce Japan to a wristwatch, and after years of further development, Seiko held a world first in 1969 with the introduction of the first wristwatch with a quartz movement. Today, Seiko makes watches with the most unusual and diverse movements. From traditional mechanical calibers to GPS Solar Powered timepieces, Seiko develops and makes everything in its own workshops. The Kinetic movement, in which a battery is charged by wrist movement, is also an invention of Seiko. This type of timepiece can be found in a wide range of the collection.
The 4R57 Seiko caliber with power reserve indicator is a mechanical caliber. The watch automatically recharges itself while being worn by converting the wearer's arm and wrist movements into energy. Movement of the watch causes the watch's main spring to be wound up. This spring is the energy source. Hand winding is also possible. When fully charged, the watch has a power reserve of about 41 hours. The power reserve indicator shows on the dial how much power the watch has left. The tick rate of this automatic is 21,600 per hour and the watch has 29 jewels. The 4R57 caliber features 5 hands: time display (hour, minute and second hands), date display and power reserve indicator. The 4R caliber is manufactured entirely in-house.
Seiko, founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori, has an impressive history dating back to the beginning of the modern era in Japan. The founder started out as a watchmaker in Tokyo and quickly became a pioneer in the watchmaking industry. The company produced its first clock in 1892 and Japan's first wristwatch in 1913, showing Seiko's commitment to innovation early on.
Over the following decades, Seiko grew into a globally respected watch brand with a series of groundbreaking achievements. In 1969, Seiko introduced the world's first quartz watch, the Astron, setting standards for precision and technological advancement. In the years that followed, Seiko launched other remarkable technologies, such as the Spring Drive mechanism, and developed several collections that are both technically advanced and aesthetically appealing. With more than a century of innovation and craftsmanship, Seiko remains an icon in the watchmaking industry, bringing together the past and the present in an impressive legacy of timekeeping.
The Seiko Presage collection embodies sophistication and craftsmanship, with watches that perfectly combine tradition and modernity. With a heritage dating back to the early 20th century, Presage offers a range of models, each with carefully crafted details. From delicate dial patterns to high-quality materials such as stainless steel and sapphire crystal, these watches exude timeless elegance for any occasion. For watch lovers who seek subtle sophistication, the Seiko Presage collection represents the essence of Japanese watchmaking traditions.
